Poor neglected Blog!

My store blog has taken a back seat lately. I have a brand new blog:http://onehautemama.mumspace.net/
it combines posts about my life as well as store updates.

Much has been happening behind the scenes at Haute Mama. I've been contacted about stocking all kinds of goodies. A few we have tried, and added to the store. A few are just plain silly!

One such product was a baby hooded towel with Velcro that you pop around your neck so you can pick up baby without hassle, it proudly boasted " baby will be in the crock of your arms in no time" and I believe them... it's a crock alright!

Then there have been some gorgeous new children's clothing lines. And I couldn't resist, they are just so cute. Look out for Oobi in the Cute Couture section of the store. I have the complete set of skull and crossbones gear for my little man.

Other great additions are Kindred Magazine. This is an absolute must read for me, combining parenting issues, environmental issues and lots of articles that really raise your awareness about Fair trade and the world around us. Do yourself a favour and subscribe.

Last but certainly not least is the addition of Modern Cloth Nappies. We are very excited to offer Haute Pockets, and coming soon is our own range of handmade nappies.

As you can see, we have grown from a nursing wear retailer to a one stop shop for both mother and baby :)

Top Secret Maternity

I just got my stock from Top Secret Maternity. I think I'm in love!!! An Aussie product that outshines the competition on all fronts. The built in bra is more structured and supportive, and the privacy layer is brilliant. It's perfect for maternity wear, as well as Breastfeeding. I tried on the dress too- it's the first breastfeeding 'dress' I've tried on that I can honestly say you could wear to a party. Brilliant!

Happy New Year! Haute Mama Is Live!

Wow, to steal a line from Big Kev, I'm excited! This year is going to be great.
I'll have 2 kids in school, one in kinder and 1 at home... Time flies once you have children. I think I'm going to feel a little bit lost actually.

I've been looking into some new products for Haute Mama and they'll be instore soon.
Beautiful organic baby skincare from Little Twig, a company popular with the celebrity set, I've heard. Is that a glowing endorsement? Maybe the proof is in the after bath 'baby smell'... Try some for yourself.

Ergo baby carriers, Hug-a-Bub and Peanut shell slings-
A great way to bond with your hatchling and still go about your business. Look for them at Haute Mama in Mid January.
People have asked me about stocking those other generic baby carriers. I just can't do it. They are not good for a babies spine and I can't sell a product I wouldn't use myself. All the slings I have chosen for my store are A-Ok with Osteopaths and Midwives, and the mothers who use them (myself included) rave about them.

We love the fashion sensibility of the OiOi nappy bag- if there's a style you love and we don't have it in stock, let us know.

Aussie Mamas are coming up with some brilliant new Nursing wear. We now proudly stock the Top Secret Maternity Range. Fashion with FUNK-tion! Can be worn throughout pregnancy and feeding, AND they make dresses.... WOOHOO And they aren't those hideous vested frump numbers. They are fab :)

Arrrrrgh This Mama is about to reach critical mass! Core meltdown in....3 minutes.

Honestly, babies have a radar. It let's them know when there's hot coffee or tea about to be consumed. Even as they sleep they can sense "Mummy time" or important work that needs doing. Each of my four children has excelled in putting a a stop to any productive pursuits. Oh, my kingdom for a Nanny, and a cook- just for a day! The things I could do......

Haute Mama Store Launch

Well here we are! About to launch the store I wish existed 9 years ago when my mothering journey began.
Maternity tops that extended to post partum belly covering nursing tops- unheard of! I once purchased a hideous big t-shirt with zippered nursing openings. It should be in the "what not to wear" hall of shame. I wore it twice, then went back to wearing regular t-shirts that offered no belly coverage. My stretchmarked tum was less of a fashion faux pas than the zippered Tee.

My 3rd child was a huge fan of the boobie, I and resigned myself to a life of public shirt hoisting. I'm not shy about feeding, but today's low cut jeans and fitted tops aren't too kind to tums that have done more than 200,000kms.

When my youngest belly buddy arrived this year he set about breastfeeding with great enthusiasm. I was a tandem feeding celebrity in the hospital and I felt like getting a tattoo that read "Breasturant, open all hours" on my butt :)

Winter came and I really needed something to keep my belly warm at feeding time. I purchased virtually every breastfeeding top on the market. Haute Mama is a collection of my favourite breastfeeding gear. Better still, most of these tops can be worn during pregnancy, so they are great value. Along the way I've found other gorgeous products, tried and tested in my own home with my kids.
